Vraja Sundari Keilman, born in 1982 in Amsterdam, was raised in an artistic family deeply rooted in spiritual traditions. She studied classical and contemporary ballet at renowned dance academies in Amsterdam (Amsterdam Theaterschool) and Rotterdam (Codarts), eventually venturing into professional productions under various companies such as Scapino Ballet and Korzo Productions.
In 2007, Vraja founded the award-winning Samadhi Dance Company, renowned for its honest performances and innovative approach to dance, capturing the hearts of audiences and critics alike.
Vraja's artistic exploration led her to research the connections between diverse dance forms, culminating in the development of a unique movement language that fuses Vedic principles from yoga and ancient Indian dance with Western techniques, bridging Western and Eastern arts and philosophy.
Her method not only expands movement vocabulary but also aims to connect individuals with themselves and their surroundings, transcending cultural boundaries and enhancing physical, emotional, and mental well-being, ultimately fostering freedom of movement and individual expression.
