Previous weekend Samadhi kicked off its annual summer tour with the first performances of the season at the Rathayatra in Copenhagen and the beautiful Festival of India in Malmö Sweden and it couldn’t have been a better start! The dancers were honored by Mangalvati Citra Dev Dasi’s request to perform in Copenhagen with the powerful mens piece from the 2009 production ‘Vizve’, a sensational solo by our expert bharata natyam dancer Gaura Nataraj Das and in Malmö with Samadhi’s latest production Mohini. Who could have thought that the trip would turn out to be one of Samadhi’s most memorable and heartwarming experiences ever, exceeding everyone’s expectations! The dancers stayed in the beautiful home of Managalavati herself and were provided with everything from delicious home-made food, most enjoyable rides, beautiful stages and the best and sweetest company ever! Not only were the performances received with standing ovations and touched viewers Samadhi is extremely grateful to be requested to perform again at several festivals in Copenhagen and Sweden for the summer of 2013! The whole experience was just wonderfully overwhelming and touched the cast to its very core and we all can’t thank the amazing Mangalavati and her sparkling family enough!
